Student Film Competition

In order to develop new talent we are creating a new short film competition. The rules are simple. All films should be under 3 minutes long. Applicants should be students. There will be a top prize of £1000 and a nine other prizes the details of which are to announced later. A jury  selected by Donal MacIntyre will adjudicate. There will be an additional prize for the best film dealing with issues of old age and disability. Winners will be announced on June 1st 2008. A new series of the award winning and internationally acclaimed MacIntyre's Underworld  comes to our screens on Monday 10th September at ten on FIVE.

Undercover Revisited

Ten year ago Donal Mac Intyre won numerous journalism awards for a brave and audacious lone undercover investigation into the Nottingham gangland. His chief target was a major crossborder drug trafficker Wayne Hardy. Mac Intyre, working for the acclaimed World In Action, series infiltrated the drug world from top to bottom.

Ten years on as a documentary maker, Mac Intyre returns to meet Hardy to explore his life and times - this time up front and above board. They discuss betrayal, lies and all that happened between them and since. Undercover Revisited is simply an unbelievable prospect. In production - it is due for release in September 2007.  

Donal is to swim the English Channel next August for the learning disabled charity MENCAP. "I needed an explanation for my expanding waist line and thought that this would do." Swimmers are required to put on weight to protect them from the cold. This is goin to be a trial run for the full event next year - although if he is lucky he may not need the extra year's trainig.
