The Channel Five documentary, hosted by Donal MacIntyre, that was broadcast on 10 October 2003 made harrowing watching.
Scenes included an old man being forced to at his dinner while still dressed in a soiled incontinence pad, an old woman being shouted at while groaning in pain as a urine soaked pad was removed fro her skin, and call bells being deliberately ignored as a matte of routine. None of this was the extreme end of abuse, but all of it demonstrated what it is like to wake up every day to the same humiliation, the same degradation, the same de-humanising without any escape. This video is perfect for training purposes, and portrays the reality of abuse in a manner that words alone could never do.
