Kas 08-04-2003, 06:44 AM Morning, Did anyone see this last night? I fell asleep and missed the end, I saw it up to them going off to the Congo where they had heard a report of "BBC" being for sale and in a cage in the jungle but never got to see whether they found him/her..........does anyone know if he was found alive/rescued? :( :( Ta Karen
Bianca 08-04-2003, 09:36 AM I didnt see it, and in a way I am glad because it sounds like the type of thing which would upset me hugely  Kas 08-04-2003, 09:54 AM Hi Bianca, It was really sad and horrible! I can't believe I fell asleep though, i really wanted to know what happend to the little cutey - at least not knowing, I can convince myself he was found safe and well! Karen Angelmouse 08-04-2003, 11:16 AM I didn't see it either, sorry! I can't watch things like that, to emotional! Fran :dawn77: Honey Bunny 08-04-2003, 12:30 PM I saw it! What a brilliant programme although very sad. They did find a female gorilla about the same age and size as baby BBC would have been. It was being sold by some poachers. they had to give it all sorts of checks to see if they were able to release it back into the wild but they couldnt definitely identify it as baby BBC. They thought it was unlikely that the poachers would have been able to have kept her alive for 9 months not being in her natural surrounding so they thought it was unlikely that it was her, but too much of a coincidence for it not to be as no others had been reported missing. The two men who were doing the programme (can't remember their names) were trying to identify her markings but they were not allowed to get very close and so couldn't tell if it was baby BBC. Aww she was so cute. They had a real dilemma whether or not to introduce her back into the wild as there was a chance she could be attacked by the other gorillas or maybe even infect them with a disease she may have picked up. The only other alternative was to put her to sleep! Anyway cut a long story short, when she was well enough she was introduced back into the wild but was attacked by some of the other gorillas and unfortunately she died on the mountain from hypothermia  how sad is that after all their efforts. She died before they were able to confirm from her DNA that it was baby BBC so they never found out:cry: It was just soooo sad. Kas 09-04-2003, 02:56 PM Hi Honey Bunny, Thanks ever so much for letting me know the ending, how sad! At least they did what they felt was best at the end of the day. I think if i had seen the end i would have been sobbing into the cushions! :( Maybe if it wasn't baby BBC she is still out there somewhere? Thanks again, Kas nikki 09-04-2003, 03:42 PM I have to say, I am soo glad I didn't see this, it would have done me in!
