| Channel 5 Reporter to Speak at Mencap Conference |

Mencap the leading learning disability charity in Northern Ireland confirmed that Donal MacIntyre, the investigative reporter, would be a guest speaker at their annual conference in April 2005.
The Channel 5 reporter Donal MacIntyre, who is a ambassador for Mencap, became involved with the charity after making a controversial programme about the abuse of a group of people with learning disabilities living in a care home. Donal commented, "I'm passionate about bringing learning disability issues to wider audiences and I'd like to do all that I can together with Mencap to ensure that people with a learning disability are treated fairly." He will join delegates examining the main theme of the Mencap conference - ‘Equal Chances' for people with learning disabilities. The conference will take place on Saturday 16 April 2005 in the Quality Inn Hotel in Carrickfergus. Delegates attending will have the opportunity to participate in debates and workshops on equality, discrimination and learning disability issues. Rehacare |
